Consultations

These are by appointment with a Veterinary Surgeon or Veterinary Nurse. Appointments can be made by phone or at the reception desk. Due priority is given to urgent cases. We ask owners to keep dogs on a collar and lead and cats in a secure basket at all times in the waiting room. Nervous or fractious pets may be kept outside or in the car until ready to be seen. Alternatively it may be possible to find a quiet area within the practice for you to wait.

Surgical And Investigative Procedures

Our practice is equipped with modern facilities to provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatments. We have Digital X-ray, Doppler ultrasound, ECG, blood pressure monitors, endoscopes and laboratory equipment to run comprehensive in house bloods. Our operating theatres contain modern anaesthetic and monitoring equipment. We do require your consent in writing for any procedures to be carried out on pets admitted to our wards.

Home Visits

In most cases the best facilities for examination and treatment of animals is at our practice premises. However home visits are appropriate in certain circumstances and may be requested. We will try to arrange a mutually convenient time during normal working hours.

Nurse Clinics

The practice staff includes a number of qualified Veterinary Nurses as well as trainees. Much of the preventative care is in their hands and you will find them friendly and willing to help. They carry out a variety of minor procedures such as micro-chipping, nail clipping and suture removal as well as providing advice on feeding, dental care, flea and worming treatment and weight control.

We provide genuine 24 hour emergency care at all other times. Please ring the usual phone numbers and you will be connected to the duty vet/nurse. Out of hours we usually work from the Ilkley base to ensure optimal nursing care for your pet.
